One of the tank units of the Russian Ground Forces, on its own initiative, continued field tests of a complete remote control kit adapted for integration on tanks of the T-72B3/B3M, T-90A, and T-90M series. Testing of the prototype kit was carried out on the basis of the T-72B3M MBT.
The kit is represented by remotely controlled servo drives of the mechanical controls of the vehicle, including the gearbox, using a radio command channel.
Electromagnetic drives for controlling the tumblers and controls of the 2A46M-5 gun, a CMOS sensor in the optical axis of the eyepiece of the Sosna-U multi-channel gunner's sight, and a video image transmission module via a secure radio communication channel.
In this case, the effective range of the video image transmission channel and the command and telemetry channel can reach 100 km if a UAV-based repeater is used.
It is worth noting that even the prototype vehicle is equipped with a developed two-tier anti-cumulative anti-drone "visor."
