VK has announced the start of pre-orders for the "VK Capsule Pro" smart speaker with the "Marusya" voice assistant. Russia's first smart speaker with a touch screen has a power of 65 W, a built-in Zigbee hub, and sensors for smart home control.
Since 2023, the "Marusya" and "VK Capsule" teams have joined forces to develop content and recommendation systems, artificial intelligence, and smart devices. In May 2024, sales of "VK Capsules" began in Belarus, and in August it became known about the upcoming release of a new generation of speakers with enhanced sound power and an updated design from the international design studio Karim Rashid with 360⁰ LED backlighting.
The "VK Capsule Pro" received:
- an acoustic system with spatial sound technology. The speaker sounds lively and voluminous, creating a full immersion effect in music;
- a round touch screen that helps switch tracks and manage playlists, see music album covers and audiobooks, the time, weather, "Marusya" functions, and smart home data;
- the ability to connect smart devices from more than 70 brands and control them by voice thanks to the built-in Zigbee hub, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth protocol support;
- smart motion, temperature, humidity, and light sensors that work either according to personal scenarios or according to templates in the "Smart Home" section from "Marusya". The voice assistant, for example, will be able to turn on the air conditioner, humidifier, fan, or other climate control equipment at a set temperature and humidity according to templates;
- all "Marusya" functions. It will turn on your favorite music, tell a fairy tale, start a quiz, or play with children. It can also voice and send VKontakte messages and read the news feed aloud.
The "VK Capsule Pro" is available in four colors: "onyx", "cobalt", "burgundy", and "fuchsia". The new speaker can be customized with designer watch faces; a unique collection has been created for each color. The retail price of the speaker will be 24,990 rubles, but during the pre-order stage, the speaker can be purchased with a twenty percent discount for 19,990 rubles.
