TsNIITOCHMASH, which is part of the Kalashnikov concern, has resumed production of a number of its Olymp series rifle cartridges for shooting from sporting rifles. Prior to this, only 5.6 mm rimfire "Olymp-Bi" cartridges were available for a long time, but now, "due to the steady growth in demand from consumers", their family has been expanded.
With Olymp cartridges of .22LR (5.6) caliber, the national teams of our country have won more than 250 gold medals and set about 100 world and European records at the Olympic Games and World and European Championships, stages of the World Cup in shooting and biathlon. To achieve maximum results in sports and hunting, several different groups of Olymp series cartridges have been developed for both sports competitions of various levels, as well as for amateur and commercial hunting.
After a long break, TsNIITOCHMASH is again producing:
- "Rifle" cartridges — cartridges for sports shooting from rifles;
- "Nord" — for shooting from short-barreled rifles such as BI-6 and BI-7 and training biathletes during training shooting;
- "Zima" — for shooting from rifles such as Sobol, Sever and their analogues in winter conditions for amateur and commercial hunting;
- "Rubezh" — for training shooters, conducting shooting competitions and training shooting;
- "Okhota" — for amateur and commercial hunting.
As the concern emphasizes, all Olymp cartridges are distinguished by high accuracy, stable grouping, power and low recoil. Due to the careful manufacturing of the case and the precision weighing of the powder, the possibility of a case rupture is prevented, and a high-quality primer eliminates misfires.
