NEFAZ Hired Robots to Assemble Passenger Buses

They work in the glazing and assembly line areas, speeding up the process of new buses appearing on Russian roads

Suspended pneumatic cantilever manipulators were selected at NEFAZ among many equipment options. They speed up bus assembly and improve working conditions for employees. So far, there are only three manipulator robots: two in the glazing area and one on the assembly line, installing large windshields on buses.

All manipulator robots are of domestic production, they were designed, developed and manufactured by DALMEK-RUS LLC by order of automakers.

The peculiarity of the installed manipulators is that 80% of the manipulator components are manufactured at the company's own enterprises, but at the same time they are standard and replaceable with analogues from other brands. The manipulators are convenient and unpretentious in operation, since they operate exclusively from a compressed air system, while having all safety systems in the design, eliminating poor-quality gripping, dropping the load in the event of an emergency shutdown of air or a break in any circuit.

The innovation has greatly facilitated and simplified production. Prior to this, workers at NEFAZ had to manually install up to 29 windows on one bus, the largest of which, according to the company, measures 1710x1980 mm and weighs 78.5 kg.
