The Engineering School of the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation (GUAP) has begun developing a plug connector for airfield power (ShRAP) to replace foreign counterparts. This was reported in the press service of the university.
The electrical airfield power connector includes a plug on the aircraft and a socket connected to the ground power unit.
To create the ShRAP, scientists will conduct a three-dimensional scan of the original product and create its three-dimensional model in a CAD program. Then, the connector will be tested for strength, and materials will be selected for the development of a solid-state sample.
We use advanced technologies in the field of reverse engineering, materials science, and additive manufacturing in our work. Calculations have already shown that we will be able to improve the tactical and technical requirements for the products.
The new equipment will replace foreign counterparts. It will be resistant to climatic, temperature, and mechanical influences.
According to the test results, the ShRAP sockets withstand a fall onto a concrete platform from a height of three meters.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that more than 400 types of airborne navigation devices and systems were released at the Ramenskoye Instrument-Making Plant.
