The sea trials of the diesel-electric submarine "Velikiye Luki" (Project 677 "Lada") have begun in the Baltic Sea. They are supported by the crews of the "Mozhaisk" submarine, the "Kazanets" small anti-submarine ship, and naval aviation of the Baltic Fleet, the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) press service reported.
Factory tests are an integral part of the program for preparing a submarine to perform tasks for its intended purpose with combat exercises in various operational and tactical situations.
In one of the Baltic Fleet's areas, the crew checked the submarine's maneuverability and speed. In addition, the sailors checked the hydroacoustic complex, navigation and communication systems, and tested the lifting and mast devices. During the tests, the submariners from "Velikiye Luki" used torpedo and mine weapons.
