Earlier, information appeared that Russia would launch the production of new 4G and 5G base stations from the base station developer "Irteya," which belongs to the MTS telecom operator, in 2024. The preliminary cost of one such station is 1.5–2 million rubles.

In August, a 4G network for government structures on Russian "hardware" was already launched in Moscow. The stations for this network were supplied by the company LIS.
