Russia is starting the production of 4G and 5G base stations that will use Russian-made software. This was announced on October 1 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
We are now launching the creation of base stations with Russian software for 4G and 5G networks. Next year, we plan to establish mass production of such solutions.
Earlier reports indicated that Russia would launch the production of new 4G and 5G base stations from the base station developer "Irteya," owned by the mobile operator MTS, in 2024. The preliminary cost of one such station is 1.5–2 million rubles.
In August, Moscow already launched a 4G network for government structures using Russian "hardware." The stations for this network were supplied by the company LIS.
