Hackers Stole Several Thousand "Detsky Mir" Gift Certificates

Attackers hacked the website of a Russian retailer

Hackers have stolen 4.5 thousand gift certificates of "Detsky Mir". This is stated in the materials of the case of the Investigative Committee of Russia (IC RF).

Attackers hacked the website of "Detsky Mir" and committed the theft.

During such connections, using computer programs knowingly designed to neutralize computer information protection measures, they selected values in the form of a number and PIN code to 4459 prepaid electronic gift certificates and gift cards of PJSC "Detsky Mir" stored in electronic form, that is, electronic media containing information certifying the right of their holder to purchase goods.

Bypassing security measures allowed hackers to gain access to prepaid cards. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 4 of Article 159.6 (Fraud in the field of computer information) and Part 2 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Use of malicious computer programs).
