Transition to the conveyor: Reshetnev company handed over the first batch of its waveguides to RKS

The Zheleznogorsk company has already localized the production of waveguides on its territory and will increase their production

With the unification of the forces of Russian manufacturers for the conveyor production of satellites, Roscosmos hopes to speed up the process of creating a satellite constellation and make it more reliable. It is assumed that the assembly line for satellites will reduce overhead and production costs of satellite construction by up to 40%. The price of finished products will decrease by up to 28%, the satellite manufacturing cycle will take two years instead of four to eight years, and the risks of disrupting satellite production deadlines will be reduced to 25%.

Each satellite can have more than a thousand waveguides. Therefore, Reshetnev company switched to their own production and developed a new method for quickly manufacturing waveguide sections for satellites. Now it takes only a few hours instead of days.

We designed and launched serial production of waveguides in a short time. The batch transferred to RKS was produced and tested in accordance with the specified requirements. In the context of the announced program to increase the Russian orbital constellation and the growing need for components, we plan to increase the volume of waveguide production. To this end, JSC "RESHEТNEV" has created an almost completely localized production in cooperation with our long-term partner, RKS holding.
Evgeny Patraev, Deputy General Director of RESHEТNEV company

RKS also has its own developments in this area. They have developed their own technology of multi-micron integrated waveguides, which create modern interference-protected high-speed information transmission lines. It is already successfully used in conveyor production.
