The plan is to replace imported installations for washing and drying SMIF containers for silicon wafers. The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade is ready to pay contractors 476.8 million rubles for this work, which is allocated two and a half years, according to "CNews". Among the mandatory conditions is domestic components and materials in the installation.
SMIF containers are used to store and move sets of semiconductor wafers between installations, maintaining their high purity. Such containers require a special installation for washing away contaminants. The device, which the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Physics must import-substitute, is designed for group processing of SMIF containers and cassettes for wafers with a diameter of 150 mm and 200 mm.
As the Ministry of Industry and Trade explained to "CNews", such equipment is currently purchased in China. It is used by leaders in the production of domestic microelectronics: "Mikron", "Istok named after Shokin", NIIS named after Sedakov, NZPP "Vostok". At the same time, the demand for installations is estimated at "at least 10 units in the perspective of 2030".
