Up to 300 Mbps: Megafon Boosts Internet Speed at New Moscow Metro Line Stations

Connectivity and internet access available anywhere in the subway

Communication and high-speed internet have been enabled at 4 new stations on the first section of the Troitskaya line of the Moscow Metro. The speed reaches up to 300 Mbps.

The telecom equipment supports low-speed (2G and 3G) and high-speed 4G bands. In the lobbies, high speed was achieved through frequency aggregation and the use of Multiple Input — Multiple Output (MIMO) 2x2 technology. This makes it possible to use mobile communications and the Internet anywhere in the subway.

Together with our partners, we provide metro passengers with access to fast mobile internet and reliable communication, including at new stations from the moment they open. Thanks to this, citizens can always use the phone in lobbies, on escalators, platforms and in carriages.
Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for Transport

It is worth noting that the grand opening of the first section of the Troitskaya metro line took place on September 7 of this year. It will include 17 new stations which are planned to be completed by 2030.
