Bulgarian Military: российские власти прекратили финансирование разработки ударного дрона «Гром»

The drone developed by "Kronshtadt" company received the RD-93 engine

The "Grom" strike drone was first presented at the "Army" forum in 2020. Since then, the developer company "Kronshtadt" has made significant changes to the drone's design. This was pointed out by the Bulgarian Military publication.

"Grom"
Unlike the "flattened" fuselage of the earlier version, the current "Grom" resembles a Russian fighter jet. The two rear tail wings, located at an angle of 45 degrees, have been replaced by a single wing at an angle of 90 degrees.

This suggests that the developers have integrated additional electronic equipment into the UAV. However, "Kronshtadt" company does not disclose the technical characteristics of the drone.

The "Grom" received the RD-93 engine, which is suitable for performing a variety of combat missions. The drone can fly at speeds up to 1000 km/h to a distance of up to 700 km.

The UAV is also equipped with advanced avionics. These include electro-optical and infrared cameras, a synthetic aperture radar, and electronic warfare systems.

Russian authorities have stopped funding the strike drone. "Kronshtadt" says that the development of "Grom" will take about 5 more years. The company will probably look for external funding.
