Reliable Protection Against Electronic Warfare: Feature of Russian Geran-2 Kamikaze Drones Revealed

UAVs received interference-protected Kometa-M modules

Russian military personnel at the forefront are using modernized low-observable Geran-2 kamikaze drones. The drone's GLONASS correction modules have Kometa-M antennas with a narrow directional pattern, shielded in the lower hemisphere.

This solution minimized the interference from the enemy's L-band electronic warfare equipment, noted military expert Evgeny Damantsev.

The UAV is capable of performing low-altitude flight at an echelon of about 45 m even under heavy machine-gun fire from the enemy.

Tactical and Technical Characteristics of the Geran-2 UAV:

  •  Wingspan — 2.5 meters
  • Length — 3.5 meters
  • Weight — 200 kilograms
  • Flight range — 2000 kilometers
  •  Speed — 180 kilometers per hour
  • Warhead — 50 kilograms

Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian "Fencers" Su-24 performed bombing. Strikes during the exercises were carried out with the execution of simple and complex types of maneuvers from medium and low altitudes
