Unit 1 of Rostov NPP Reconnected to Grid After Defect Repair

Radiation Levels Stable Around Rostov NPP

On August 24 at 17:40 Moscow time, Unit 1 of the Rostov NPP was reconnected to the grid and began carrying its nominal load after equipment checks and a turbine defect repair. By the morning of August 25, the unit is operating according to the dispatch schedule, Rosenergoatom reported.

Earlier, on August 23 at 15:34, Unit 1 was disconnected from the grid due to the need to carry out work after a defect was detected in the turbine steam extraction equipment. Currently, all power units of the station are operating normally. Units 1, 3, and 4 are functioning normally, while Unit 2 is undergoing scheduled maintenance, which began on July 24.

The radiation background at the station and in its vicinity is stable and complies with safe operation standards, not exceeding natural background values. No violations of the limits and conditions of safe operation of the Rostov NPP have been recorded.
