JSC "Satellite System "Gonets" (part of "Roscosmos") is preparing for the serial production of the personal terminal "Gonets-Autonomous". It has successfully passed the tests. This was announced by Andrey Manoylo, Deputy General Director of the enterprise for operation.
"Gonets-Autonomous" operates continuously for 4 hours (when powered by a battery). The device has confirmed its ability to transmit various types of information.
The "Gonets-Autonomous" uses a new antenna, which is about half the size of the current Gonets mobile antenna and is designed specifically for personal communications. The antenna is external, which allows you to quickly replace it with a modification traditionally used on transport if necessary. For example, if you are using "Gonets-Autonomous" not for a walking group, but on an all-terrain vehicle.
The "Gonets Autonomous" communication terminal allows you to transmit small files, text and voice messages. It is also capable of serving as an access point for distributing Wi-Fi signal to other mobile devices and sending its coordinates in automatic mode. The weight of the communication terminal is 3 kg, it fits in a backpack.
