"Tactical Missiles Corporation" Refused to Equip FAB-5000 with Universal Gliding and Correction Module

The most powerful aerial bomb with UMPC in the arsenal of the Russian Aerospace Forces remains the FAB-3000

The Soviet high-explosive aerial bomb FAB-5000, developed by designer Nison Gelperin, will not be equipped with a universal gliding and correction module (UMPC), said Boris Obnosov, head of the Tactical Missiles Corporation.

According to Obnosov, the most powerful aerial bomb with UMPC in the arsenal of the Russian Aerospace Forces remains the FAB-3000.

About FAB-5000

These aerial bombs were created for bombing large concentrations of troops, strategic facilities and railways. A new explosive was specially developed for the FAB-5000, which included trinitrotoluene, hexogen and aluminum.

The Pe-8 bomber became the carrier of the bomb. After state tests, the FAB-5000 was put into service with the Soviet army.
