The Ministry of Digital Development of Russia continues to actively implement the program to eliminate the digital divide, which aims to connect small villages to mobile Internet. Over the past four years, thanks to this program, almost 5,000 settlements with a population of 100 to 500 people have gained access to the Internet. About 4,000 of them were connected based on voting, in which residents of the regions cast almost 2.5 million votes for priority villages to be connected.
This year, voting starts on August 5 and will last until November 17. Adult Russians can take part in the voting by voting for a locality from the region where they are registered. Residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg do not participate in the voting. You can vote on the "Gosuslugi" portal on the service page for voting or by sending a letter by mail to the address: 123112, Moscow, Presnenskaya nab., 10, building 2. The letter must indicate the name, registration address and locality that needs to be connected to the Internet. The letter can be signed by several people at once, while the vote of each signatory will be taken into account.
The program to eliminate the digital divide (TsSN) was launched in 2014. Since 2021, an updated version of the program has been implemented - TsSN 2.0, which covers settlements with a population of 100 to 250 people and provides infrastructure for access to high-speed mobile Internet of the LTE standard in settlements with a population of 100 to 500 people. The service is developing within the framework of the national project "Digital Economy".
