Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the head of the Rostec corporation, Sergey Chemezov. At the meeting, the Russian leader was informed about the progress in addressing the tasks of strengthening the country's technological sovereignty. Chemezov particularly highlighted PJSC KAMAZ, which was able to replace thousands of components in the production of грузовой техники.
The KAMAZ-54901 truck tractor is the flagship of the new generation of K5 trucks, which we once created together with Daimler. Since 2023, we have started producing these tractors already with import substitution.
He also spoke about the successful import substitution of parts for KAMAZ-6595 and KAMAZ-54902. According to him, the first model has been produced in an import-substituted version since November 2023, and the second tractor will begin mass production this year.
Chemezov also said that much attention is paid to the training of young specialists. Thus, 36 educational and production clusters have been created in 23 regions with the support of Rostec. 470 million rubles were allocated for these purposes. Students actively undergo practical training at the state corporation's enterprises, with 70% being practical training and only 30% being theory.
