Lada Sport will launch the LADA Niva Sport into production before the end of the year. This car will also have a special version — Silk Way, named after the Silk Way Rally. This car will be even more off-road than the LADA Niva Sport.
In order not to confuse the car with the standard LADA Niva Sport, the Silk Way modification will receive an orange color. The car will also have an expeditionary trunk on the roof, a snorkel, running boards and black wheels.
In the cabin, as in the LADA Niva Sport, a single control of the transfer case and differential lock is implemented. This is evident from the two transmission levers, while the classic Niva has three such levers. The car has a steering wheel from the LADA Granta, with an airbag.
Three versions of LADA Niva Sport
Currently, there are three versions of the Niva Sport. AvtoVAZ presented them to the public during the open day on July 20. The first model is the regular LADA Niva Sport. It is equipped with a 1.6 engine with 122 horsepower from the sports LADA Granta. This model will go into mass production. Insiders suggest that its price will start from 2 million rubles.
The second car is the Silk Way modification, which will also be mass-produced. The likely price of such a model is about 2.5 million rubles.
The third option is rally prototypes that will participate in the Silk Way races. The latest version of the car is equipped with an engine with a capacity of 150 or 180 horsepower, depending on the version of the car.
