Kalashnikov Launches New Electroplating Line at Weapons Production Facility

The equipment will increase the output of parts

Kalashnikov Concern JSC has put into operation an automated production line for cadmium plating (a method of improving the anti-corrosion properties of a product by applying a layer of cadmium) and zinc plating of parts at the weapons enterprise. The equipment was developed specifically for the modernization of the plant and is ideally suited for solving the production tasks of the concern.

The entire production cycle is automated. The line consists of several dozen baths. Thanks to this, it is possible to significantly increase the production volume of cadmium-plated and galvanized parts.

The equipment is controlled by one operator, excluding his interaction with chemical elements. The new line makes it possible to carry out several types of passivation (coating the metal surface with an anti-corrosion film). It also reduces water consumption, increases energy efficiency and reduces harmful emissions.

Electroplating of metal is used to increase the strength and wear resistance of parts. This is achieved by applying zinc and cadmium to the surface of the product.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Kalashnikov concern increased production volume by 50%.
