Over the weekend, Moscow conducted an "Electric Scooter" raid to identify violations by drivers of personal mobility devices (SIMs), the capital's State Traffic Inspectorate press service reported.
Not only electric scooter enthusiasts were checked, but also cyclists and couriers.
As a result of the event, traffic inspectors suppressed more than 10.4 thousand violations of the traffic rules of the Russian Federation by persons using SIMs and bicycles.
As a result, 4.6 thousand violations were committed by SIM users, about 3.6 thousand by couriers, and 2.6 thousand by cyclists.
As the capital's traffic police noted, the purpose of the past raid was to prevent injuries on the roads and reduce the number of traffic violations.
The department's employees did not specify what violations SIM and bicycle drivers were caught for, but previously electric scooter users were most often fined for improper parking and riding together.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia may create a SIM police force to control electric scooter users.
