Specialists from the "Ship Mechanisms of Winch Type" design bureau (part of the "Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant" (KMZ)) have developed a pump unit for an electro-hydraulic system for remote anchor release. This was reported by the manufacturer's press service.
The device has the appearance of an oil tank equipped with a discharge pipeline, valve box, and suction pipe (filter). Externally, it is equipped with a control cabinet for the pump unit, valve box, and electric motor with a coupling for connection to the pump.
The pump unit is designed for remote anchor release, which is used to unlock the band brake of anchor and anchor-mooring mechanisms. When the "anchor release" button is pressed on the remote control, a signal is sent to the control cabinet to turn on the electric motor, which drives the pump, and the oil pumped by the pump is supplied through the valve box and pipelines to the working cylinders of the band brakes, causing them to close and open.
The new development can be used in various anchor-mooring mechanisms. These include anchor winches, capstans, and windlasses.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that KMZ will help with import substitution in aviation.
