Russian military personnel on the front lines have built a special mobile bed on which machine guns can be placed for remote shooting. The device has a video camera, thanks to which the machine gun crew gets the opportunity to control the fire remotely while in cover.
A night vision device will provide soldiers with surveillance of the firing sector at any time of the day. In the future, the bed is also planned to be equipped with an optical sight.
Fire control is carried out via wires, which makes the machine gun installation completely immune to the effects of enemy electronic warfare systems. The installation operator can be up to 100 meters away from it.
The soldiers said that when creating the device, they used electronics and spare parts from broken and captured equipment. As armament, Kalashnikov tank machine guns were used. The military has already tested the novelty at the training ground and expressed their readiness to test it on the front lines.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian military crossed the Vyatka quadcopter and the AK-74 assault rifle. The operator controls this device using FPV goggles.
