Senator Ayrat Gibatdinov has sent a request to the Minister of Health, Mikhail Murashko, with a proposal to allow ambulances to ram cars that are obstructing their passage.
Gibatdinov's initiative is related to a recent incident in St. Petersburg, when a resident of the Northern capital blocked an ambulance with a child on board for 10 minutes.
The senator proposed to exempt medical personnel from responsibility for damage to a vehicle in the event of it being rammed and not to require them to compensate the owners of the dented cars.
It is worth recalling that back in March of this year, Deputy Sergey Kolunov proposed giving ambulance drivers this right. He explained that it concerns cases where the patient's life is under threat. It was proposed to equip the vehicles with power bumpers.
