LOMO JSC, a leading Russian enterprise for the production of optical, optoelectronic, opto-digital, and opto-mechanical devices and systems, has been transferred to the management of the Kalashnikov concern by order of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The order was signed in pursuance of President Vladimir Putin's decree of March 3, 2023, "On certain issues of the implementation of activities of economic companies participating in the implementation of the state defense order." According to the document, the rights of shareholders and management of LOMO JSC are suspended.
The decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade is designed to save the main production assets of LOMO JSC, the results of intellectual activity, and preserve funds in the interests of the state when LOMO JSC fulfills the state defense order.
The concern emphasized that they support the decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Specialists of LOMO JSC produce optoelectronic products that are used in Kalashnikov products. The gunsmiths believe that due to the increase in the volume of the state defense order, the synergy between LOMO JSC and the concern will help strengthen Russia's defense capability.
Earlier, the Klimovsk Specialized Ammunition Plant, which is located in Podolsk, was nationalized by a court decision. Rostec became one of the shareholders.
