Altai's "Barnaulstankostroy" has resumed production of BSS CNC lathes with increased precision, which had been idle for almost two years due to sanctions. The "daughter" of the Altai Geophysical Plant is the only manufacturer in Siberia that produces such equipment.
These lathes are used in aircraft construction, shipbuilding, instrument engineering, mechanical engineering, for the needs of the defense industry and in a number of other technological areas. They were imported to Russia from Japan, Germany, Switzerland, Korea and Taiwan, and were produced by several Russian factories, including "Barnaulstankostroy." However, a number of highly specialized systems, CNC units in Russia were not produced, but were purchased abroad. After the tightening of sanctions, the supply of these components ceased. The production of these machines was suspended.
With Russia's transition to domestic production and import substitution, the need for lathes has grown rapidly. Barnaul residents began to look for new suppliers of the missing "filling" for part of their products.
We managed to find manufacturers of the necessary CNC units in China, the entire design, system and technological solutions are completely developed by specialists of our enterprise, taking into account modern global demands and expectations in metalworking. The machines are patented and tested in operation. They belong to the class of increased accuracy. Achieving such accuracy is ensured by a set of design solutions: the use of a linear motor and a bed made of polymer concrete - "artificial granite".
The first six machines are already being assembled, and it is planned to produce about a hundred of them per year to start. The company is already working with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to ensure that the BSS machine receives the status of a Russian manufacturer. This will allow other Russian enterprises to purchase such machines at a discount under various federal programs, which is compensated from the budget.
"Barnaulstankostroy" plans not only to increase the production of its CNC lathes, but also to export them to the CIS countries. The personnel reserve for increasing production volumes will be created from students of Altai State University, Altai State Technical University, and the Machine-Building College. The plant is also interested in developing maintenance services for machines in the CIS countries. Where they will be operated, personnel will also be trained. However, a number of permits will be required to enter the Russian market.
