Shipbuilding Cluster to Appear in Nagatinsky Zaton

Construction of a new shipyard is nearing completion in Russia. It will appear in Nagatinsky Zaton (Southern Administrative District of Moscow) by the end of this year, according to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

The decision to revive domestic shipping stemmed from the demand for river transport. In 2023, it was used by a record number of passengers, with 2.2 million trips made on pleasure boats and motor ships. In the near future, the capital plans to launch 40 modern electric vessels for regular river transport. In the future, the plant's capacity is planned to replace all vessels for Moscow.

Electric river vessels in Moscow have become in high demand among Muscovites and tourists. This indicates that the program for the development of regular river shipping is in demand. In this regard, we have decided to build a special plant in Moscow for the production of environmentally friendly electric vessels of various sizes.
Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow

The construction of the shipyard began in 2023 and is progressing rapidly. The developers plan to establish a full cycle of ship production: metal cutting, hull painting, welding, equipment installation, and testing of technical characteristics. A design bureau will be created separately to develop models of new vessels.

The annual production capacity of the enterprise is 20 vessels. The construction of each will take 270 days. The total area of the cluster will be 23 thousand square meters.

We are now reviving an entire specialized cluster. The new shipyard will build and service unique electric vessels for regular and pleasure fleets. In the future, cruise ships. We are organizing a full-cycle production with a design bureau, where the most advanced and environmentally friendly technologies will be used. More than 70 percent of the equipment is of domestic production.
Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow

The shipyard will also include a site for ship repairs. It is planned to carry out maintenance of over a hundred river vessels per year.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia will build 25 large pleasure boats with a cool design. The price of each is 300 million rubles.
