«Сердце» для российских систем ПВО, «Искандеров», «Армат» – как работает микрогазотурбинная установка «Ростеха»

SCB "Turbina" is the only enterprise in the post-Soviet territory that produces them

"Rostec" spoke about one of the important elements related to the production of Russian tanks, self-propelled guns, air defense systems, MLRS, radars and other advanced weapons – micro gas turbine units.

In all instances of the OTRK "Iskander", self-propelled guns "Msta-S", MLRS "Tornado-S" and other equipment, they provide electricity to all nodes. In particular, in the "Tornado-S" they provide the launch of missiles. Microturbines operate even in difficult conditions and on almost any type of fuel: kerosene, alcohol, and even their mixtures. At the same time, the accuracy of the output current parameters does not change – it remains higher than that of diesel engines.

The units are mounted on military equipment and are not a removable part, being with it in all conditions and starting even in frost at a temperature of –50.2 degrees Celsius. The gas turbine engine starts with the help of a pneumatic start.

The operating scheme of a gas turbine unit is similar to the operating scheme of a jet aircraft engine. Air is taken from the atmosphere and compressed in a compressor. Then, with the help of a fuel-oil unit, fuel is supplied, which burns in the combustion chamber, creating enormous pressure and temperature. Then the hot compressed gases, leaving the chamber, trigger the turbine. The turbine rotates the compressor, which, in turn, rotates the generator, and it already generates electrical energy.

Microturbines are as optimal as possible in terms of design simplicity, recovery capability, maintainability, exposure to dust, dirt and water. The only enterprise in Russia and throughout the post-Soviet space that develops and manufactures microturbines is SCB "Turbina", which is part of "Vysokotochka" "Rostec".
