Yandex, Sber, and VK failed to agree on the joint development of an operating system based on Android. Now each company will work on its own version of the platform, according to an informed source.
According to experts, it will not be a full-fledged operating system, but work on "cosmetic changes to open Android." A source in the industry said that the operating systems will be designed for consumer and government segments.
All three companies intend to include their developments in the register of software from the Ministry of Digital Development. Experts are convinced that Sber, VK, and Yandex will not be able to occupy a significant share in the market with their operating systems and compete with Android.
It should be noted that none of the three companies confirmed the development of their own OS. VK stated that they are not conducting such developments, Yandex did not comment on this information in any way, and Sberbank ignored the journalists' question.
