Izhevsk Mechanical Plant (IMZ), part of the Kalashnikov Group, has announced the release of an exclusive batch of MR-512 air rifles with unique engraving. Each of the ten rifles in this limited edition features a unique dragon image on the receiver, executed in the technique of relief engraving, and is unparalleled. The works were performed both by classical engraving methods and with the use of special colored paints for metal processing, as well as inlaying with precious metals.
To create the exclusive series, the stock from the MR-161 "Manul" product was used with minor modifications. This is a high-quality walnut, treated with linseed oil or varnish, which favorably emphasizes its noble wood pattern. Engravers, designers and woodcarvers of IMZ have developed an original grid pattern, which is applied to the stock using a laser.
Each rifle is equipped with a wide Picatinny rail, which is a novelty for MR-512 air rifles manufactured by "Izhmash". In addition, each rifle comes with a passport indicating the names of the designer, engraver, woodcarver, as well as the individual number and engraving pattern. The first products received serial numbers from 000001 to 000010.
Work on the "dragon" series lasted three months. The company notes that the plant's specialists continue to master "new techniques for applying unique patterns to metal."
Today, the plant is ready to produce products with artistic engraving in limited batches and on individual orders.
