Lightweight, Modern, All-Weather - Kalashnikov Upgraded the AK-12 Together with the Military

A batch of improved AK-12 assault rifles has been shipped to the customer after a full cycle of testing

The Kalashnikov Concern has completed the shipment of another batch of improved AK-12 assault rifles to the customer after a full cycle of mandatory testing. The modernization of the appearance and technological changes of the assault rifle are carried out taking into account the combat experience of military users.

In the design of the 2023 model AK-12, the burst mode of two shots was abandoned. But in this latest version, the following appeared:

  • non-removable slotted flash suppressor-compensator;
  •  trigger mechanism with a two-way translator-fuse;
  • new diopter sight with a folding rear sight with holes of various diameters for shooting in conditions of limited visibility and bad weather;
  • lifting cheek for ease of aiming when using optical or night sights;
  • a different system for attaching the receiver cover and handguard design.

Some of the changes are kept secret: representatives of the concern only note that "a number of technological updates have been made to the 2023 model AK-12, which have improved its performance". At the same time, the assault rifle has become lighter, and its design is still ergonomic and convenient for combat use.
