The sales launch of the XCITE X-Cross 7 crossover (Chery Tiggo 7 Pro), scheduled for May, is being postponed indefinitely. The reasons for this decision are not stated, but it is possible that Chery has paused cooperation with AvtoVAZ due to a possible increase in the utilization fee, sources reported.
The XCITE brand is postponing the start of sales, previously scheduled for early May. Today, dealers received a letter asking them to hold off on installing signs and flags at dealerships.
Earlier, AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov complained about Chinese automakers who provide customers with discounts exceeding the recycling fee. After that, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, stated that the authorities could index the recycling fee if representatives of the domestic auto industry submit specific proposals.
Some experts disagree with the policy of increasing the utilization fee. They believe that this could cause a number of Chinese automotive brands to leave Russia.
The increase in the "utilization fee" itself will lead to an increase in price, an increase in cost. But this may also lead to the departure of a number of automotive brands and models represented on the Russian market.
