"Uralvagonzavod" delivered reinforced dumpcars to metallurgists on time

Load capacity increased by 10 tons

The "Uralvagonzavod" concern of "Rostec" completed the contract for the supply of dumpcars with one of the largest Russian metallurgical companies. Twelve 12 dumpcars of model 33-9985-01 were assembled by the car builders of the subsidiary Volchansky Mechanical Plant together with employees of gas cylinder, mechanical assembly and furniture production.

Specialized dumpcars are designed for transportation and mechanized unloading of bulk and lumpy cargo. A distinctive feature of the 33-9985-01 dumpcar is an increased load capacity of 10 tons compared to similar models. The large Russian metallurgical company, with which VMZ is already concluding its second contract, has been supplied with wagons with a carrying capacity of 115 tons.

Dumpcars are, in fact, dump trucks, and many of them cannot be seen on the main tracks of Russian Railways. Basically, they work, transporting coal, ore, soil, sand, crushed stone over short distances, from quarries to mining and processing plants. Wagons 33-9985-01 are also intended for this.

The volume of each such wagon is 50 cubic meters, while it can carry up to 115 tons of cargo. The difference with other similar wagons in terms of load capacity is achieved by strengthening the body, changing the thickness of the floor decking and modifying the sides.

Such a wagon can unload the contents as quickly as possible to either side of the railway track, tilting the body by 45 degrees and simultaneously opening the side. The body is lifted using pneumatic cylinders.
