VASO to reach a plan of two Il-96-300 passenger aircraft per year

Engineers at the Voronezh Aircraft Manufacturing Company (VASO, a branch of PJSC "Il") rolled out the fuselage of the Il-96-300 medium and long-range passenger aircraft from the general assembly slipway. The main work on the slipway assembly of the 18-ton aircraft was completed in three months - a record time, according to UAC.

According to Yuri Shestakov, Head of the VASO Aggregate Assembly Production, the employees of the fuselage assembly shop, the blanking and stamping production, and the mechanical assembly production worked well. By the end of March, non-slipway work will be carried out on the aircraft fuselage and it will be transferred to the final assembly shop.

According to the UAC plan, the aggregators of the second Il-96-300 will be sent to the final assembly. Thus, VASO will reach the planned production rate of 2 aircraft per year. This corresponds to the corporation's program for the development of civil aviation.

Russia also plans to develop a new Il-212 light military transport aircraft to replace the An-26 and An-72. The production of a prototype should be completed by the end of 2026. UAC has already begun preparing a technical project.
