In 2024, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is introducing restrictions on drone flights for agricultural needs in Central Russia and southern regions as part of a temporary airspace closure regime.
In which regions will the restrictions apply:
- Krasnodar Territory
- Stavropol Territory;
- Astrakhan Region;
- Volgograd Region;
- Voronezh Region;
- Lipetsk Region;
- Tambov Region.
In the fall of 2023, an experiment was introduced in these regions to introduce agricultural drones. Farmers could use drones for their own needs, providing a flight plan to specialized departments.
However, in some regions, including Altai, Tatarstan, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Saratov and Ulyanovsk regions, agricultural drones are not prohibited from flying.
Against the background of restrictions, in 2022 the air work market decreased to 8.5 billion rubles (minus 2% compared to 2021). This also negatively affected the demand for agricultural drones. Experts believe that in 2024 the market volume will decrease again.
