eGate turnstiles, manufactured by ELSI, have been installed in the departure area of Russian airlines at Pulkovo Airport. The project is being implemented as part of the import substitution program.
Thanks to the new turnstiles, passengers will be able to independently scan their boarding pass or QR code on their phones and quickly proceed to board the plane.
According to our estimates, the time spent serving all passengers waiting to board will be reduced by a quarter
The turnstiles are made of stainless steel. Iskander Group was responsible for their configuration, having implemented the SpetsKontrol mobile boarding pass accounting system.
The innovation uses sensors to track passenger movement, as well as their hand luggage. The passenger information is then transmitted to the airport agent.
Currently, new eGate turnstiles have been installed at two boarding gates, and by the end of this year they will appear at all gates in the domestic departure hall.
It was previously reported that a drone detection system will appear in Pulkovo in the airspace.
