"ProRodinki" was developed by a graduate of the GenerationS corporate innovation development platform, the company "AIMED", and the Privolzhsky Research Medical University as part of the "Region Without Melanoma" project. The application is available on Android and iOS in mobile application marketplaces.

This non-medical information system works simply. The user needs to fill out a short questionnaire in the application, indicating their skin color and approximate number of moles. Then, they need to take a photo of a suspicious mole that is bothering them and send it for verification by the neural network. It will process the image and provide a recommendation.

If consultation and clarification regarding the mole are required, they can be obtained in the application by signing up for consultations with one of the specialists who can be found in the application. However, any diagnosis by the neural network or a remote specialist still requires confirmation during an in-person consultation with a dermatovenereologist and oncologist.

As representatives of the "Region Without Melanoma" project told "Rossiyskaya Gazeta", the Russian application has been used by more than half a million people in the three years it has been operating. The accuracy of "ProRodinki" diagnosis was confirmed by tests conducted at the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology in Moscow.

Now, after registration as a medical device, the application will be able to become an integral part of the work of doctors in the primary healthcare sector. It will also be able to send patients directly to qualified specialists if they have risks.
