PJSC "Yakovlev" is working on a new training aircraft for training civil aviation pilots. It will be created on the basis of the Yak-152 military trainer.
The experience gained during the creation of this aircraft will be used to form the technical appearance of a new training aircraft for schools and training centers of civil aviation. It will be created together with potential operators and Rosaviatsiya. Initially, Russian military educational institutions will be provided with the new training aircraft, but in the future it may begin to be supplied for export as well.
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced the inclusion of promising aircraft models in the military training aviation fleet for modern training of Russian pilots. These are MiG-UTS, the creation of which began in December 2023, and Yak-152, which successfully passed state tests in the same December. Yak-152 is part of the Yak-130 combat training complex.
It became known in the summer of 2023 that the Yak-130, which is capable of performing maneuvers characteristic of fourth and fifth generation fighters, will be updated. According to the management of PJSC "Yakovlev", this is necessary "for performing special tasks and advanced pilot training".
