AvtoVAZ is preparing to launch production of Lada Largus with internal combustion engines at the plant in Izhevsk.
The production of Lada e-Largus also survived the move to Izhevsk - in December, the first batch of electric vehicles was assembled there, one of which was personally tested by the head of the Udmurt Republic, Alexander Brechalov.
The transfer of production of some Lada cars to Izhevsk became known in 2023, the last cars were produced in mid-August. According to AvtoVAZ, the break in the production of the car should help Russian suppliers master an additional range of components to increase technological sovereignty for this model.
Now, according to Alexander Bogachev, General Director of the plant, to the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta", at the end of the month, "Lada Izhevsk" will weld the first Lada Largus body from units produced in Izhevsk. The serial production of this model is scheduled for May 2024.
To launch mass production, the necessary tools are already being purchased and preparations are underway to produce plastic components, suppliers are being involved to produce seats and instrument panels, new colors are being developed on the painting line, and the stamping production is mastering the production of front parts.
