An unmanned train with the highest level of automation - the fourth - will be launched on the MCC in 2026, said the head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov.
It is expected that a level 3A unmanned train will start running in Moscow in the summer of this year. The launch of a fully unmanned train based on the import-substituted "Lastochka" (new Russian train ES104 "Finist") is scheduled for 2026.
According to Belozerov, the change in the timing of the launch of such a train is due to the fact that specialists had to completely import-substitute «Финист». Equipment for automation was prepared in parallel.
Now engineers are installing and integrating it. Currently, the automated ЭС104 «Финист» is undergoing testing.
