At the end of December, Rostec's subsidiary corporation UEC conducted the final acceptance tests of the new generation unified gas pumping units UGPA-16(25). They were developed together with Gazprom to cover the needs of the domestic fuel and energy complex.
UGPA-16(25) uses AL-31ST gas turbine engines with a capacity of 16 MW manufactured by UEC-UMPO as a power drive. If necessary, the installed drive can be replaced with any other GTD of the "PS", "AL" and "NK" series with a capacity of 16 MW and 25 MW without changes to the design of the unit.
Two UGPA-16(25)s have been delivered to the Yubileinaya compressor station since 2022 and have participated in the transportation of gas on the Ukhta-Torzhok main gas pipeline. They were refined taking into account the comments of operators and customers, and now it is ready for mass launch, demonstrating its reliability and efficiency.
The development will reduce the costs of designing and building gas transportation infrastructure facilities, ensure the interchangeability of nodes and systems, and help redistribute the supply of components if necessary. The demand for it is significant: the total length of gas transmission lines in Russia alone is now about 200 thousand kilometers. Plus, hundreds of kilometers of new gas pipelines will begin to be built very soon - Russia will be completely gasified by 2030.
Currently, Gazprom PJSC is forming a need for this equipment and the first technical specifications for the production of products are being drawn up. We estimate the need for UGPA-16 (25) until 2030 at more than 120 units.
In addition, UEC is now testing the first domestic gas turbine industrial engine. This is the "heart" for units that provide the necessary pressure when transporting gas through gas pipelines AL-41ST-25 with a capacity of 25 MW. Prior to this, such engines were not assembled in Russia.
