Employees of the Institute of Biomedical Problems (IBMP) of the Russian Academy of Sciences have begun testing scientific equipment intended for the second biological satellite "Bion-M".
It is known that as part of the tests, 75 mice will be isolated from the outside world for 35 days. Experts will check how the equipment copes with ensuring the vital activity of rodents.
20 laboratory devices will be prepared for the space flight. After successful tests, they will be shipped to RCC Progress for further tests and subsequent shipment to the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
The launch of the second biological "Bion-M" is scheduled for July 31, 2024.
Earlier it was reported that Russian specialists have assembled a "space thermometer" that will monitor the temperature in the "Bion-M" compartments.
