The modernized aircraft has increased flight range and payload, improved navigation accuracy, cargo landing accuracy and radio communication quality.

Another aircraft under this year's program is at the final stage of factory testing. We will fulfill our obligations to supply military transport aircraft to the Russian Ministry of Defense in a timely manner. The Aviastar branch of PJSC Il continues to increase production rates and output. We are planning a further increase in the series. A production backlog for next year is already being created.

Earlier it became known that Russia will increase the production of Il-76MD-90A fourfold in the coming years. For this, a flow line of non-stack automated assembly has been developed at the plant in Ulyanovsk.

Il-76MD-90A

Il-76MD-90A is a deeply modernized domestic version of the Il-76MD, which lifts more than 60 tons of payload. The aircraft is designed to transport paratroopers, military equipment and heavy cargo, and, if necessary, is converted to transport the wounded and sick in an emergency. It has a modern domestic flight control system with autopilot, weather radar and other necessary settings.

In 2023, the Rostec State Corporation brought the modernized Il-76MD-90A (E) to the Dubai Airshow International Aviation and Space Exhibition in the UAE. The military transport heavy aircraft became the first example of such equipment since 1994, which Russia brought to a foreign exhibition.

At Dubai Airshow 2023, the aircraft was engaged not only in self-presentation, but also in a slightly unusual business for itself. Its more than 50-meter wings became a shelter from the sun for visitors to the exhibition.
