The appearance of the Aurus limousine is a continuation of the Soviet ZIS-110 and a new vision of the Style Center of FSUE NAMI. This was stated at the Russia Forum at the invitation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia by Yuri Chernenko, Director of the NAMI Style Center.
According to him, a competition was held in 2013, in which 78 style options for the future limousine were presented. But the best option was the one proposed by NAMI.
The task was to work with a group of cars on a single modular platform of different types for the top officials of the state: sedan, limousine, SUV, minibus. The cars should have a classic, restrained appearance, emphasizing the monumentality and grandeur of Russia
The head of the center added that the appearance of the cars should be modern and competitive, because Aurus is also designed for private clients.
The appearance should not become outdated. The work of designers consists of contradictions, but it is from these contradictions that the best result is born
He noted that NAMI specialists took the stylistic appearance of the first luxury car of the USSR ZIS-110 as a basis. The sketches presented classic design solutions and innovative options. As a result, the concept with continuity from ZIS-110 won.
The final version was finalized taking into account a survey of premium car owners. Thanks to this, the designers reduced the number of chrome elements.
A feature of Aurus cars is a wide range of colors.
The basic version has about 8 colors: white, burgundy, blue, gray, and others. The development of the palette continues. For example, black AURUS — universe black — its peculiarity lies in the small particles that create a glow effect when sunlight or spotlights hit the car
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Denis Manturov, said that the updated version of Aurus Senat will be released in the spring of 2024.
