The Russian mobile application store RuStore will become a pre-installed application on all devices with the domestic operating system "Aurora". Alexander Rusnak, leading product manager at RuStore, announced this at RuStore Mobile Conf.
According to him, this will happen as early as 2024. The store's platform allows for a seamless native installation scenario directly from it and updates to devices with the "Aurora" OS. In the case of the same Android OS, its system requests additional permissions from the user to install applications and updates from RuStore.
Recently, devices with the "Aurora" OS can be bought in a regular store. They have ceased to be a corporate privilege and a privilege for government agencies, and have caused a stir among retailers.
At the same time, as Alexander Konin, leading product manager of "Open Mobile Platform," noted, the "Aurora" OS data storage system remains closed to private clients for now.
This means that an ordinary user cannot immediately connect to the "Aurora Center," which stores all information from devices on its servers.
We are now working on the issue of how the connection to the "Aurora Center" will work in this case through some special applications. Either it's coming to an organization or a university and asking the park administrator about a corporate connection of the device to the corporate "Aurora Center." Or users [who bought a smartphone or tablet with the "Aurora" OS in the store - ed.], will be able to separately connect to some "Aurora Center" by special request.
Konin also spoke at RuStore Mobile Conf about the fifth version of the "Aurora" OS. The "Five" will be based on user experience and has improved multitasking and graphics performance.
Konin did not say definitively whether the update will be automatic for users of the fourth version of the domestic OS - he urged the audience to follow the news.
