Assembly of Aurus Senat cars has begun at the production site in Abu Dhabi, said the Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, Denis Manturov. According to him, in the future, they will also produce Aurus Komendant SUVs here.
It is noted that the Russian premium brand plans to open Aurus showrooms in the UAE. They will offer customers car customization. Aurus will also appear in other Middle Eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia.
Manturov confirmed that there are such plans. However, first the brand must establish itself in the Emirates, the minister stressed.
The Aurus dealership, as well as the start of car production, was supposed to start in 2024. But the brand decided to start producing Senat ahead of schedule, considering the interest of potential buyers in the brand. We are talking about Arab sheikhs and oil magnates.
Aurus Senat was first shown to the public in 2018. It is expected that an updated version of the sedan will be presented in 2024. According to media reports, under the hood of Senat they will install an engine that is used in Chinese Tank 500. There is no official confirmation of this information.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Gazprom PJSC may join in the development at Aurus. The energy company is considering the possibility of buying a share of the premium brand.
