Faster and more accurately: in Moscow, doctors make a diagnosis taking into account the assessment of artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence technologies help doctors in Moscow diagnose patients

In capital clinics for adult patients, a service to assist therapists based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology has been introduced. The digital assistant evaluates the information of the electronic medical card and makes a diagnosis. The Moscow city government stated that the AI assistant offers a second opinion. In this way, it can provide additional support to the doctor, eliminating the human factor.

It is noted that the service analyzes the patient's complaints, examination results, examination protocols. Taking into account this data, it can make a more accurate diagnosis. However, as city hall explained, the AI does not replace the doctor, but becomes his assistant. But the final decision always lies with the healthcare worker. At this moment, the accuracy of the service's diagnoses is 87%.

AI technologies began to be used in Moscow clinics at the end of 2020. Over this time, about 12 million preliminary diagnoses were made with the help of the digital assistant. The AI module is part of a unified medical information-analytical system.

Artificial intelligence technologies are actively used in almost all areas, including robotics. Previously, www1.ru wrote that a domestic anthropomorphic robot RDI, which can communicate with a person thanks to AI, was presented at VDNKh.
