Projects related to unmanned transport are actively developing in Russia, within which drones are used in agriculture. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov at the “Knowledge” marathon.
According to him, Russian engineers are developing and testing autonomous tractors and combines in the fields. Unmanned equipment operates on the principle of "precision farming".
One of the major Russian developers of software for the autonomous operation of agricultural equipment is the company Cognitive Pilot. Its software is installed on the combines and tractors of "Gomselmash", the Petersburg Tractor Plant (PTZ).
According to the report of the "InterAgroTech" association, as a result of the first agricultural company, unmanned technology, including “Kirovets” tractors (produced at PTZ), helped farmer’s cooperatives save about 30% of the costs for fertilizers, seeds, fuel and lubricants.
