The certification of the Russian Il-114-300 is postponed due to circumstances of insuperable force

The shift from 2024 to 2026 is associated with the inability to continue experimental design work on the aircraft

The Ministry of Transport suggests postponing the release of the first modernized turboprop aircraft Il-114-300 due to "circumstances of insuperable force" and "impossibility of continuing experimental design work and certification".

By 2030, it was planned to release more than fifty Il-114-300 for the civil aviation of Russia and for export.

As indicated by the department in the materials to the draft government resolution in terms of changing the terms and cost of the supplied aviation equipment, posted by the Ministry of Transport on the Federal Portal of draft regulatory legal acts, the first deliveries of Il-114-300 were to begin in 2024.

The Public Joint Stock Company "IL" was to hand over three aircraft to the State Transport Leasing Company, which in turn would lease them to the Vologodsky aviation enterprise for passenger transportation.

But now the Ministry of Transport suggests postponing deliveries to 2026 due to the crash in August 2021 of the experimental model of the light military transport aircraft Il-112В in Kubinka.

The crashed military Il-112B and the future civilian Il-114-30 have the same type of engine: TV7-117CT developed by "ODK-Klimov". To change the typical design of Il-114-30, install a new engine there, conduct new flight tests, and undergo certification will take time.
