Developers from Kazan have developed smart watches that measure the patient's pulse, blood pressure, and ECG, and can also send this data to the treating physician. The first batch of smart watches is planned to be released in 2024, according to the platform of the National Technological Initiative (NTI).
The device, which incorporates artificial intelligence (AI), can be integrated into a single system for remote patient health monitoring as part of the 'Clinic at Home' model. According to one of the project authors, Linar Garifullin, the gadget is individually customizable. Unlike smart watches from other manufacturers, the Russian development helps the attending physician to adjust the therapy, and the data it collects becomes part of the patient's medical history. Garifullin called the gadget 'import-substituting'.
The project, combining the functions of a medical device and a smart watch, is at the prototype stage. The developers also plan to obtain a registration certificate from Roszdravnadzor.
